FIRE PUMPS - Diesel Fire Pumps

Diesel America West, with over 25 years experience packaging diesel equipment, offers you the proven reliability of rugged and truly portable diesel equipment. While similar to gasoline equipment in size and weight, our diesel machinery offers you the advantages of safety, fuel economy, long life, reduced downtime and year after year dependability.

Diesel America West's maritime heavy service, self priming, centrifugal fire pumps feature quality usually found in heavier and more expensive units. As superstars in the pump world, these pumps are assembled using the finest components available. The Yanmar "L" series diesel, a popular and proven lightweight 4-cycle air cooled engine, is coupled to the super tough, certified, saltwater USCG rated fire pump. Excellent for use where higher pressures and general pumping requirements are needed.

Together these units combine to make a serious high performance diesel fire pump that provides the user with easy starting, reliable service, excellent fuel economy, with engine and pump life many times greater than gasoline powered units. All in all, a lightweight, rugged, diesel fire pump that works and doesn't break.

New Diesel Fire Pump Can Handle the Pressure

Offering performance previously unavailable in a portable fire pump, Diesel America West's new high-pressure DPL100-FPG is designed to operate under the most severe conditions. With its economical Yanmar diesel engine, the pump is stingy on fuel as well.

At home in maritime saltwater or fresh water environments, the pump is capable of producing a maximum 175-gpm flow rate and can generate a maximum pressure of 110 psi. It will produce a maximum vertical suction lift of 25' with a dynamic head of 260'. The DPL100-FPG is perfect for fire protection, underwater jetting, shellfish harvest, washdown jobs, high-head transfers and other high pressure uses.

The fire pump is powered by a 10-hp Yanmar L100AE-D air-cooled diesel. The engine is equipped with a 12-volt electric starting system and a recoil-type starter as a backup. Connected with oversized cables, the engine's 45 amp-hour severe service battery is maintained by a heavy-duty, 15-amp, 12-volt alternator charging system. The 1.45-gallon tank allows the efficient diesel engine to run over 4 to 6 hours without refueling.

The pump is a heavy duty, ASTM-A48-Class 30 type, and is equipped with a stainless steel shaft assembly that has been precision machined for years of maintenance-free operation. The 3" ANSI-flanged or NPT suction inlets and 2" NPT discharge ports ensure a maximum flow of water. The pump is fitted with bronze and stainless steel internal parts for heavy-duty saltwater use.

The fire pump is framed with tig-welded, 304 stainless steel, soft-radius square tubing. Installed between frame and pump, six heavy-duty isolators with stainless steel hardware effectively dampen any vibration. The fire pump is center-balanced for lifting, and is equipped with two-man carrying handles on each end of the frame. With 316 stainless steel hardware used throughout, the unit is built for the severe maritime service environment.

The fire pump can be ordered with a wheel kit equipped with handles, as well as hoses made to any specification.
